Before a realtor anywhere in the country shows you a property for sale, you will now have to fill out a Buyers Broker Agreement which would be between the seller and the agent showing you the property.
This agreement must be filled out and signed before the agent could open the door. The reason why is to protect the seller and the buyer for commission. This practice has been around for many years, but most realtors have never used it.
As of August 17, 2024, the lawsuit states that this form must be signed and held as a copy per the National Association of Realtors.
Don’t be alarmed, it’s still business as usual.
